4 Month Check-up

Whoa, it's crazy that Chase is already 4 months old! We went to the doctor today, and Chase was being so good there that it was a pity they had to go and ruin his mood with shots :( She said he could start eating rice cereal once a day now, though, and then gradually work his way to the veggies! Whoa!
His stats:

weight- 13 lbs 4 oz 50 percentile
length- 24.75 inches 50 percentile

just an average little guy; but then...

head circumference: 40.25 cm 10 percentile!! :)

It really was no surprise, but poor chase. I'd like to blame his little head on his Beazer genes, but I didn't really help him out either...At least he's got a cute little head :)
oh, and just to keep record, developmentally, Chase can:
grab things that are already in his lap, babble, laugh (soo cute! but it only happens right before bath time, for some reason), sit up with support, do the "superman", and though he's only done it one time before this, he actually rolled over while we were at his appointment! Little show-off :) It's so much fun to see him grow! We love this little guy!

This is Chase just hangin' out before bedtime. He usually goes down for the night at around 6:30 or 7:00, and then only wakes up twice at night to eat before getting up at 7am. Can't wait for the day he only wakes up once a night!!

Someone's Stealing the Spotlight!

...and deservedly so! We love our little boy, and I just wanted to update the blog with some cute pics from the last month or so. If you like pictures of cute little babies--you'll love this post :)

(Onesie courtesy of my sister, Jenny :) )

It says "fresh from the oven"--and it's from my favorite Memphis Cupcake place--Muddy's Bake Shop. If you ever go there, the Capote is the best cupcake!! (Even though I don't know how to pronounce it. It embarrasses me every time I order it, but I just can't resist).
This shot is for Nana Hulet. Because she was super excited about the cute soccer ball on the back of his onesie. Also, you can see how he rocks the Friar Tuck hairstyle :)
Chase has the cutest smile, but every time I try to take a picture, his smile ends up something like this. I think he gets it from his Dad.
He loves looking at ceiling fans. Even if they're not moving. I'm not sure why. He also likes looking at his bedroom ceiling light, but we think we know why:

"Crab attack" courtesy of our friends Denice and Tim :)
I love this outfit! We picked it out, but Nana Beazer paid for it :)
Me butting in on Chase's spotlight...
Chase "playing" with his friend Jonah :) Not sure what Jonah was trying to get from his mouth, but he kept reaching for it.
Another "deer in the headlight" pose. He's nailed that one.
Love this shot. And this outfit. Thanks again, Jenny! :)
You may not be able to tell, but this is his "Blue Steel." Pretty Dramatic.
Chase and I with my friend Natelie, and Chase's twin Isaac. I was due a month after Natelie, but I jumped the gun and gave birth to Chase a few hours before she gave birth to Isaac :) We got married on the same day, too (different years, though). Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?
Best looking 3 month old stud that I've ever seen!
Chase just barely started to play with little toys. He doesn't reach for them, yet, but if you put in it his lap, he'll try to stick it in his mouth. It's so cute :) His favorite toy is this little bumblebee. He probably likes it best because it doesn't hurt when he jams it into his face.

The end. Chase has his 4 month old check up next Tuesday! I'm excited to see how he's doing, but I don't want to see him get shots again.

Gone, Baby, Gone...

For the whole month of August, Chase and I were home a total of 8 days! It's too bad I can't say the same for Buddy, but unfortunately he had school to attend to :)

On August 5th we drove to Nashville, then flew to Denver, then finally made it to Salt Lake City, where our friend picked us up and we drove to Lehi, UT. I don't think we'll fly out of Nashville again. Not even to save $200. It's just a pain to get home, and then have to drive 3 more hours 'till we're really home. I guess it's better than driving all the way :) Especially since Chase is not a fan of his car seat. Like, not a fan at all. But he's getting better.

We took a trip out to Utah so that we could attend my older sister's wedding! We were so excited for her, and the ceremony and reception were both wonderful. We were excited to see our Utah friends while we were there, though we didn't have enough time to see everyone we wanted to see, or to spend as much time as we wanted with those we did see.

My Dad and Chase with pink ties! Would you believe it if I told you I sewed Chase's tie myself? Good thing I had a nice friend with a sewing machine that helped me :)
Chase and I outside the temple with my bestest friend Alicia. Buddy did all the picture taking so there aren't any photos of him.
Did I mention I got to see my sister while she's on her mission at Temple Square? She was allowed to come to the ceremony since my older sister got married in the Salt Lake Temple.

After Buddy flew back home to Tennessee, Chase and I went down to southern Utah with my parents to stay with my Grandma (who just turned 88!) for a week. It was fun to have Nana and Grandpa Hulet (and Great Grandma Hulet) watch Chase for a bit. I even got to go to a play at the Shakespearean Festival one night with my mom while my Dad watched Chase.

Chase and I flew back to TN alone, and thank goodness Chase slept all the way, or I might have lost my mind. It was weird to nurse him on the plane, though. I've never nursed in public around strangers before, and I'd rather not do it again...But we made it home safe and sound.

We left three days later to fly to Houston. Thank goodness we had a non-stop flight! It's so much easier! Thank you Grandma Blair for paying for us!!! We had a wonderful time in Houston, though Buddy's Grandma had to be in the hospital for half the time. I was glad we were still able to visit her and that she could meet Chase, and the Aunts were so good about doting on our little guy---especially the Swooper :)

We are glad to be home, though; Chase has been having some trouble eating, and I think it's because he's way off schedule. Hopefully he'll get adjusted soon. I'm tired of nursing him for 10 minutes, and then being forced to give him half of a bottle because he refuses to nurse any more. Now it's back to the grindstone for Buddy, and back to my 24-hour a day job :) Good thing Chase makes my job easy. He's such a good boy.
